New York ageing office renews ElliQ programme for three more years

The New York State Office for the Aging signed a new three-year, $2.1m agreement with Intuition Robotics to keep supplying ElliQ to older adults at risk of loneliness. Hundreds of people have used the device since the programme began in 2022, and more than 3,500 applied in 2025. Programme data reported very high shares of users saying they felt less lonely and that their wellbeing had improved, though these figures come from the agency and the company rather than an independent evaluation. The renewal makes New York one of the longest-running public deployments of a social robot for eldercare.
